Hi Dolly Girls
Me again, catching up on some much needed style updates! i've not shared for so long before tonight i was practically spilling over with glamour!
Today i decided to bring out the plaid trousers and go all vintage on the South East...
My outfit was made up entirely with vintage finds, i usually mix and match but the Regal embroidery on the silk blouse and huntsman plaid trouser combo was too moorish to seperate...
My bag is THE statement piece of the outfit, and is even more beautiful due to the history within it.
It has been through the world wars as my Great Grandad's gas mask case and still has his initials drawn on the front, it may have made it through the war but no doubt with my luck it will disintegrate under my supervision.
Because of the classic styling of my outfit i kept my makeup young and fresh with a dewy skin thanks to Bobby Brown, MAC's Dolly Girl blush - which usually is too dark for my complexion but the berry lips balance it out, the Lipstick is MAC Rebel lipstick over Magenta lip liner and blotted for a 'bitten' look.
Ps, Yes the fringe is new too! i cut it in as my hairs been growing so long and slightly shaggy the roughness makes it not tooo Jessie J (I Hope!) Im not one for pinching someones trademark barnet!
Let me know your thoughts & And keep dressing up
love Dolly xx

Tame Your Kinky Bits :)
Hi Dolly Girls,
Just a little update of a rediscovered hair find, I bought this brush ages ago and never used as i cut all my beautiful hair off but now i have my luscious long (fake Shhh!) locks i have decided to give it another go.
Its a Charles Worthington hair styling brush, shaped like a set of straightening irons it straightens out those annoying kinky bits as you blow!
This is the results it had on my hair which is naturally quite full and straight whilst my extensions contrast by having a natural wave and are a little bit less full when quickly blow dried...
Not a bad result really and hopefully this new not too time consuming method will keep my hair much healthier. And below is my cross-season outfit i worked as in-store its AW12 and outside its been very much summer!
Top: Urban Outfitters
Skirt: Band of Gypsies but bought in TK MAXX

Cafe Photoshoot
Hi Dolly Girls
Im so excited to post about my recent photo shoot, its been the first time i've had creative freedom (more or less) in quite some time. And i am really pleased with the results. The shoot was a collaboration with photographer Tom Keanan using Sarah Beevers Jewellery and our beautiful model Fillipa from Sapphire Models.
I did the styling and makeup for the shoot, i kept both very classic to keep the look timeless and in-keeping with the settings, i didn't want the images to be throw away within any of our portfolios and had to bear in mind all of our needs.
So here are the pics!

Brick Lane And The Bomber Jacket Merger
Hi Dolly Girls,
Just a 2 in 1 post as i haven't updated in a while, this week i have a week off and have decided to head to the city where its all at. NOT for the olympics dare i say, but for some general retail therapy/ therapy from retail...
Thought id share with you the new bomber jacket that i have hijacked from the mothers wardrobe... she was away so i took the opportunity while i could to acquire a few new bits!
This silky chain print beauty is a steal (quite literally) from Primark! the black and bronze Baroque printing makes it a perfect cross season pick...
Heres how i wore it...
With my Deena & Ozzy smart creepers and cut out sheer panelled leggings from Love Label @ Very.co.uk
Day 2 today and i had a mooch around Spitalfields market and Brick Lane where they are celebrating street art all week, heres a few bits i spied this afternoon.
Will update later this week with my purchases...
Lots of Love

Great Lengths
Hi All.
A week ago I had my Great Lengths hair extensions put in by my brilliant hairdresser Jack at Vatican in Canterbury. So thought after my first week trial i better update you with my findings...
Whats so great about Great Lengths Extensions??
I asked myself this, as the hefty price tag associated with the brand encouraged me to look elsewhere to begin with. But after many laborious hours googling the types of extension, hair types and origins and being wrapped up with the science of applications. I decided that I had screwed about enough with my hair and i would rather put my faith in a reparable brand (with expensive marketing campaign and fancy website)... than to be left bald and still £100 out of pocket!
Great lengths extensions are basically pre-bonded hair attached to small stands of your own about 1.5cm away from the scalp, attached using ultrasonic waves to break down the particles in the bond it is heat free and relatively gentle when done correctly.
I had 50 strands attached the process was relatively quick, 100% painless unlike wefting! and look so natural.
Before- Style points for Peplum, Polkadots And Pumps? |
After: Washed, Treated, Applied And Cut in about 2 1/2 hours. |
The back has been tidied and left to grow so in time when the extensions have grown out it will fall to a similar style. |
The size of the bonds is not a worry they were carefully cut and precisely folded to ensure they are all so small they are barely visible when my natural hair is swept up by the wind good job too- July? Really? I thought i better take a pic and show you what does lurk beneath my top layers of hair... So far they're easy to manage & comfortable - if they were long you would have no trouble tying them back as the gap between bond and flesh is enough to move them and style as normal.
So as you can see i am truly impressed, whether this is the extensions themselves or the skills of my handyman who applied them either way i would most definitely go back again and again.
So watch this space, i sense BIG hair coming this way!
Its only fair that i jot down the links for you to get yours the way i have...

Tangacure
Just a little nail update, as so far ill i've shown you is outfits i hadn't quite got to writing any beauty related posts.
Here are my current nails!
I've had them on for almost a week! and as you can see theyve only slightly chipped which is a miracle as all the polish i have used are £5 and under. Im calling it my Summer Revival "Tangacure"
Which sort of reminds me upon reflection of them Preteen knickers you used to buy from Tammy Girl "Tangas" i think they were called... Anyways...
Heres what i used..

The Green polish was a colour i bought on the whim when shopping in Tescos. its called 'All about Nails' and costs 99P BARGAIN. It Goes on really well, quite thick making it easier to apply evenly and drys fairly quickly i am so impressed i always pick up a new shade when i pass by. The colours are limited but i think they are regularly updated and are quite cute. I used this first over the top of the base coat.
Then used the Barry M black to paint the tips.. i think the black makes them a bit glam-goth and quirky! ive had lots of positive feedback to them. I then used the Andrea Fulerton 'Dot & Flick' brush to neaten the curves on the tips. Ive not been too impressed with some of the Andrea Fulerton nail boutique items such as the Trio Art Attacks etc i think they are a bit 'gimicky' However the brush and consistency of the polish of the "Dot and Flick' set are bang on so that even beginners will have little trouble jazzing up their talons!

Festival Fever Has Struck!
Hi all!
The sun has come out again! and so i felt the urge to start planning festival outfits...
Although what would be sensible would be to actually buy a festival ticket first... none the less i have a possible outfit..
The best part of this outfit i that for once nothing is newly bought! it is 100% recycled... which makes me feel so much better!
Every year crochet and fringing storms the summer scenes and I buy one or two bits which i never really wear, as i'm not quite sure what to wear with them, but i'm putting an end to all that and wearing them all together for an all out texture fest!
Crochet shorts are from River Island i bought them about 2 years ago and never really wore them, last week i noticed they were selling them again jogging my memory and making me fish them out.
The WOW piece is of course the understated light green suede fringed waistcoat, bought from a charity shop.
And the only accessory i thinks needed for every festival go-er or wannabe (like moi!) is an ethnic rucksack i bought my leopard and tan beauty from Primark for about £6. |
Ive kept all the colours neutral and but just popped with some bright orange RI flatforms and matching MAC Morange lips! |
This look for me is all about texture upon texture upon texture. Keep it neutral and accent with one main colour matched with your lips shoes bag ect...
My main tip from this is dont think too much about it. If it feels good, you look good!
Lots of Love,
Dolly x

Rock That Denim
This is my outfit for today! i have got a few days off and a bit of time for creativity. I am loving my new found casual look which have come about because of my latest shoe purchase.
River Island 'Hidden Heal' hightops. Being less than 5ft tall i need all the help in the height department. The 2" wedge is dare i say it comfy and sexes up any outfit!
Back to basics this is just a printed top and vintage hotpants. But what makes this a little teeny bit quirky is
1- The shoes
2 - The 90's styled bomber
3- The accessories
I am a true believer of accessorising. And rarely leave the house without one of my Dame Viv scarves. Whether tied around my head, on my bag, around my wrist. Or as seen here on a belt loop.
Why? I have no idea...
At the moment i have gone back to my chav-tastic gold ways with ear-cuffs, spikes, skulls, hoops and chains. My latest splurge here was the gold chain vest necklace. It loops around the back and under the arms... well i think thats how it goes, but i'm still finding myself getting a little bit tangled up in it... so if i stop blogging that is why!
Bomber: River Island
High Tops: River Island
Scarf: Vivienne Westwood
Shorts: Levis
Necklace: Topshop
Cuff: New Look

Just Lost My Blogging V-Plates.
"....Where did you get your shoes from?...How did you do your makeup like that?
...How do you get your hair that colour..?Have you tried the new...?"
For a long time i have been asked questions like the above, and more importantly do i have a blog?
Although i am usually one of the first to explore new trends and experiment with new beauty products, it appears that i am quite the laggard (intelligent sounding marketing term!) when it comes to blogging. So here it is i am now too jumping on the bandwagon...
Hooraah!
